A kid’s room is often an overlooked section of the house—but it shouldn’t be! This is a place where brighter colors and experimentation with whimsical elements can be very welcome, depending on your child’s tastes, of course! I love this children’s room because it seamlessly blends youthful touches with a timeless look. The daybed and the shelving on either side create a sophisticated, streamlined feel, which is nice considering how cluttered some kids’ rooms can be. The color palette of fuscia and aquamarine is playful (it really pops, don’t you think?), while the customized elements on the headboard/pillows and the quote on the wall give us a nice sense of personality. The chandelier just might be my very favorite part of this room…it employs so many the trends we witnessed at Maison d’Objet in Paris (matte finishes, plaster, white-on-white) and is right on point for 2012! I guess it’s true what Ms. Hepburn says: everything is possible, especially in an inspiring room like this one!
